To get your feet wet (pun intended) and to try swimming in runners and running in a wetsuit, even if you have not registered for our event, we have scheduled two totally free Sunday morning swimrun clinics for you, on:
- September 15th, 2019 at 8 AM at Sarsons Beach
- September 22rd, 2019 at 8 AM at Kinsman Park
These clinics are a great way to try out this crazy new way to race an endurance multisport, Europa style!
On Sunday, Sept 15, 2019, we will be meeting at Sarsons Beach at 8 AM to do a figure-8 training session consisting of 3 runs and 2 swims done solo over the last part of the long course race course for a total distance of about 6K (4.4K of running, 1650 m of swimming), and about 60-75 minutes of training.
On Sunday, Sept 22, 2019, we will meet again for a clinic, this time at Kinsman Park at 8AM to do another figure 8 training session on a different part of the race course, again 3 runs and 2 swims, total distance of about either 5 or 7K (two routes are offered).
All you have to do is show up with all of your regular gear (except your bike!) including your wetsuit, cap, goggles, and runners, a little before 8 AM to get oriented - and no partner necessary.
You can even bring paddles and a pull buoy for your swims if you want, or try tethering with your partner, although anything you try you will have to carry with you throughout the course.
On both days, you can just do half the workout if you prefer.
So, if you are up for the newest form of open water/adventure racing, come on out. It is easier than you think.
